Oil spill containment booms are used:
- to enclose oil and prevent it from spreading
- to protect shorelines and other resources
- to divert oil to other areas where it can be recovered or treated
- to concentrate oil so that skimmers, sorbents, or in situ burning can be used
INKAS® offers a wide variety of booms that each have different purposes:
- FOAM FILLED CURTAIN BOOMS
- FOAM FILLED FENCE BOOMS – HAS LOW STORAGE VOLUME, DUE TO THE USAGE OF FLAT FOAM PANELS AND CAN THEREFORE BE STORED ON PALLETS OR ON REELS.
- INFLATABLE BOOMS
- PERMANENT BOOMS
- INLAND BOOMS – USED FOR LAND, SHALLOW AND CALM WATER WHERE THE WATER LEVEL MAY FLUCTUATE.
- FIRE RESISTANT BOOMS – CONTAINS OIL WHEN BURNING IS USED AS A CLEANUP TECHNIQUE
- SORBENT BOOMS – ABSORBS OIL WHILE CONTAINING AT THE SAME TIME. (NOT A PRIMARY TECHNIQUE)
